On the 4th of May Trident Security provided event security for the new VW T4/5 forum at the Unicorn Hotel in Gunthorpe Nottingham. The event ran from 1pm until 4pm.
The Unicorn Hotel is situated on the banks of the River Trent in the scenic village of Gunthorpe. Close to the A46 and Nottingham, the hotel offers a peaceful escape away from the city and traffic.
All of the money raised was donated to Macmillan Cancer Research Trust, Leaders in providing personal support for anyone affected by cancer and their families.
98% of Macmillan’s income comes from donations from personal donations and fundraising making the public’s contributions there the first source of income. Macmillan’s ambition is to reach out and improve the lives of everyone living with or affected by cancer and to inspire and encourage people to do the same and show there support however they can. With so many ways to get involved online, there are so many things you can do from your own home, Macmillan even has an online shop where you can buy Night In kits, Coffee morning kits and books to help you raise your own donations.
The main feature of the event was the well known racing driver The Stig. The much loved BBC character made himself available for photos and gave the audience a show-stopping performance doing what he does best, racing a car around the scenic track in his record-breaking fashion. Trident Security provided The Stig with two personal security guards throughout the event.
The event also featured a live band playing music throughout the day and lots of different stalls selling different food and drinks, souvenirs and drawing raffle prizes throughout the day.
The event was a huge success raising over £1000 for Macmillan Cancer Research.
